The application of business intelligence is increasingly deepening, and the future market prospects are broad
Business Intelligence (BI), also known as Business Intelligence or Business Intelligence, was first proposed by Gartner Group in 1996. Gartner Group defines Business Intelligence as: Business Intelligence describes a series of concepts and methods that assist in making business decisions through the application of fact based support systems. Business intelligence is the process of collecting, managing, and analyzing business information. It involves collecting, managing, and analyzing data, transforming it into useful information, and distributing it to various parts of the enterprise to improve business decision-making.
Around the 1990s, countries around the world launched a wave of informatization, and a large amount of work that originally needed to be completed manually was gradually taken on by information systems. In the following nearly thirty years, business intelligence systems have rapidly developed and matured due to their ability to integrate enterprise data, provide reports and decision-making basis, and support business decision-making.
Since 2013, in the context of the widespread improvement of enterprise informatization and the continuous accumulation of massive data, the application of business intelligence software in China has entered a period of rapid development. The main application areas are continuously expanding on the basis of the financial industry, insurance industry, and telecommunications industry. China has shifted from "Made in China" to "Made in China", and has begun to attach importance to refined operations. It has gone from catching up to breaking through the curve and overtaking at a single point, gradually approaching the global optimum from local optimum, and has entered the forefront of the business intelligence field, becoming one of the fastest developing countries. In 2017, the investment scale of China's business intelligence (BI) industry reached 7.11 billion yuan, and the number of enterprises in the industry rapidly increased.
At present, China's business intelligence users are mainly concentrated in the fields of telecommunications, finance, insurance, etc. The energy and manufacturing industries have gradually become emerging markets for business intelligence with the deepening of IT investment and construction. The government industry's demand for business intelligence is also growing, and the retail, logistics, medical, and real estate industries are beginning to try the application of business intelligence. The increasingly strong market demand has become the main driving force for the development of business intelligence.
In the ever-changing market environment, enterprises must strive to become market dominators rather than followers. Business intelligence can obtain the most accurate and timely information, helping enterprises win competitive advantages. In the future, with the advancement of business intelligence technology and optimization of functions, the application fields of business intelligence (BI) products will further expand. At the same time, the application of BI products will gradually increase from large enterprises to small and medium-sized enterprises, and the development prospects are broad. At the same time, the implementation of China's big data strategy, the Guiding Opinions on Actively Promoting the "Internet plus" Action, the Big Data Industry Development Plan (2016-2020) and other policies have also "escorted" the development of China's business intelligence industry. In addition, years of education on the value of information technology applications, preparation for enterprise informationization construction, and the actual operational difficulties and pressures faced by enterprises have made more and more companies more determined to embrace BI products, hoping to improve business efficiency and enhance market competitiveness through refined operations. Overall, there is enormous potential for the development of China's business intelligence industry in the future.
